PROJECT: Turnstone Cove Oregon Beach House, College of Architecture and Environmental Design, Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, California, USA, 1970.
ASSIGNMENT: Senior Project. Design a structure of your choice, build a model, write a report (senior thesis) and make a presentation before the class.
I was lucky enough to have a real project... the design of a retirement home for my parents on the Oregon coast.
Not only did I complete the assignment for an "A" and make the Dean's List, that summer my dad and I actually built the house by hand.
Many years later I moved into this house and remodeled it two more times by hand.
